SUIT OF SWORDS - THE MIND
⭐️ I have written nine of the songs in the Suit of Swords. Six have been released.
The Swords are associated with air and represent a person's mind, powers of comprehension, and ability to communicate. In astrology, Swords correspond with Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius.
In a standard deck of playing cards, Swords are known as Spades.
This suit contains the only song written in the calendar year 2020 - a year when my mind was completely blocked and depleted of creativity. The mind can be so complex, and so can the tarot. But I am particular about my lyrics. They cannot be too artistic - the cards' meanings must be accessible. I like to use recognizable rhymes along with syllables that surprise. I am especially enjoying the songs coming through for this suit. They are pulling me to places I enjoy visiting. I think deeply about many things and my mind is always churning. It's difficult for me to relax. Maybe that's why the Universe had me release Just Breathe / Four of Swords first. A lesson to myself perhaps? This project is going to require a large effort for many years on end. I must maintain balance along the way or I could get lost in the shuffle.
