The Two of Swords represents a state of indecision, while weighing the options needed to make a choice. You are stalled in the place where two roads meet, and need to choose your direction.

SONG RELEASE STORY

May 13, 2022

At the end of March 2022, as I sat listening to my producer Brian's final mix of The Crossroads of Change / Two of Swords, I wasn't just determining if the song was finished and ready for release - I was also evaluating something else: I was deciding on my breast cancer surgery. I had a choice between two different surgical options and treatment paths.

The Crossroads of Change / Two of Swords was written on August 27, 2021 and coincidently, is the 27th song written for The Music Tarot collection. I had no idea that approximately 7 months later I would be using my own song to guide me in a life changing decision. Yet again, another twist in time had turned one of The Music Tarot songs from being yours into being mine.

When I write, I clear my head and wait. I don't think too hard. I listen for the Universe to give me the syllables and meter. I let my hands hover over the keys, waiting for the urge to set them down and form a chord.

Deciding on my surgery was different. I actively questioned and assessed. I made a pros and cons chart. I sought to understand. Finally, I let my intuition guide me and I didn't get stuck in indecision. Still, I worried about the what ifs. What if my judgment was incorrect and I chose the wrong direction? Fortunately my choice was validated by my surgical pathology results and there was no reason for regret.

Even though this was my song for a bit, it was never just mine. Now I give it to you: to the others weighing your options. Careful consideration has its place, but don't wait too long, or you might get lost at the crossroads.
